Wheeler/Plante Wedding

This is the first in a series of posts about a fantastic wedding recently held at the Log Cabin. This couple really took advantage of the “Your Day, Your Way” motto. That’s the best thing about a wedding. When you can take a space, menu, or otherwise and completely run with it and make it your own, you know you’re in for a GREAT wedding. This couple did just that.

This first post is starting the day before the BIG day…the rehearsal dinner. This three and a half hour rehearsal dinner took place at the Delaney House. The great thing about this company is the ability to take advantage of both sites, the Log Cabin and the Delaney House, and the new Mr. and Mrs. Plante definitely did.

For some, the rehearsal dinner can be a daunting event. The big day is approaching, this may be the first time in a long time the families have come together, and everyone is under some sort of stress. So how do you approach this day as a stress reliever? The answer is simple, make it you, and make it fun.

The first clue that this couple knew how to make this event fun: the menu choices. This rehearsal dinner included first, a nacho station complete with all of the fixings. As everyone knows, nachos=a good time. Besides the nachos, there were hors d’oeuvres of mini philly cheesesteaks, stations featuring a finger sandwich tower, a variety of gourmet pizzas, beef sliders with all the fixings, and the signature Chop Chop salad accompanied by sirloin, chicken, and shrimp. The food was completed with a sweets table. If this menu doesn’t scream “This wedding is going to ROCK!”, then I’m not sure what does.

The couple also had entertainment by Gary S. Jones for the rehearsal dinner, not to mention the bar was running all evening. Making this event entertaining is always a crowd pleaser, and it will give you the chance to have a relaxing time before the big day!

The rehearsal dinner does NOT have to be a stuffy sit down dinner with awkward conversation. Don’t get me wrong, this sort of dinner has it’s place, but it doesn’t have to be here. With the staff at the Log Cabin and Delaney House, if you can dream it, it can probably happen, and this couple is a prime example of taking advantage of that.

Stay tuned…the big day is next!
