As promised, I’d like to talk about the recent boxing event held at the Log Cabin. At the event, there were several boxing bouts featuring the United States Military Academy vs. champion boxers from all over New England. A silent auction was also featured A portion of the proceeds went to a Northampton-based non-profit called Soldier on, which provides shelter, counseling, rehab and job training for homeless veterans. Sponsors aside from the Log Cabin and Soldier On included Carolans Irish Cream, Commonwealth Wine and Spirits, Everlast, Opa Opa Brewing Company, Tullamore Dew and USA Boxing Connection. 

So let’s get down to it!

The Menu

All of those in attendance were greeted with the Special Welcome with the addition of tortilla chips, salsa, and guacamole. In addition, were some fantastic hors d’eouvres of potato skins, buffalo wings, and meatballs. 

Dinner, after the Signature bread, was started with a Classic salad (quarter head of Iceburg lettuce and house dressing). Then, the main entree was the Gorgonzola sirloin with merlot demi glaze, accompanied by buttered green beans with roasted corn and carrots, and a baked potato with sour cream. 

On each table, instead of a traditional centerpiece was a dessert tray, filled with assorted cookies, chocolate bars, and brownies.

Then of course, there was coffee and tea service, in addition to the cash bar.
